INTRODUCTION TO
Blender

WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?
This course is designed for those who want to start learning Blender from scratch, with a solid foundation and a professional mindset. You’ll learn essential tools for modeling, sculpting, UVs, shaders, and 3D workflows—with a practical focus on virtual production, video games, and animation. This is not a pre-recorded tutorial: these are live online classes where you can ask questions, practice, and get real-time feedback.

• Windowless interface: workspaces, panels, and editors.
• Navigating the 3D space and essential shortcuts.
• Creating, selecting, and transforming objects.
• Interaction modes and object duplication.

• Meshes: vertices, edges, faces.
• Advanced selection (loops, rings, hidden elements).
• Visualization and basic modifiers.
• Modeling methods: box modeling, poly-to-poly, revolution.

• Intermediate tools: Knife, LoopTools, Snap.
• Action repeats, transformations, and symmetry.
• Using the Mirror modifier.
• Axis precision and visibility options.

• What low poly is and what it’s used for.
• Smoothing techniques and triangulation.
• Practical exercise: modeling a low poly character from reference.

• Intro to high poly.
• Correct topology and when it matters.
• Subdivision, support loops, basic retopology.

• Sculpt mode, Remesh, Dyntopo, and basic tools.
• Retopology over sculpted models.
• Using Addons: F2, Polybuild, Snap, Shrinkwrap.
• Full workflow: creating a low poly mesh from a sculpt.

• Detail consolidation with Multires + Shrinkwrap.
• Hands-on review of key tools covered so far.

• Technical modeling: industrial parts, bevels, loops.
• Inclined planes, custom orientations, overlays.
• Scene organization: Outliner, collections.

• Basic rigging: armature, skinning, Rigify.
• Keyframes, animation curves, simple animated scenes.

• Addons: UVPackmaster, Texel Density, Toolkit.
• Shader Editor: creating materials with Node Wrangler.
• Lighting, HDRIs, render types.
• Exporting to Unreal and Unity, scale management, FBX workflow.

WHAT WILL YOU BE ABLE TO DO?
1. A solid grasp of Blender’s interface and workflow.

2. First 3D pieces ready for rendering or export.

3. Technical understanding to continue into texturing, animation, or virtual production.

4. A strong base to integrate into pipelines with Unreal Engine and other game engines.
