Palacio Mexuar
Heritage

WHAT NO LONGER EXISTS… WE REBUILT IT
The Mexuar Palace, the original entrance to the Alhambra palace complex in Granada, was a key administrative and political center during the Nasrid dynasty.

Today, only a few visible remnants remain of what it once was. That’s why, at Acid Drops, we decided to digitally reconstruct it—reviving a fundamental piece of Andalusi heritage and turning it into an immersive, accessible, and visually striking experience.

FROM HISTORICAL PLANS TO A NAVIGABLE 3D ENVIRONMENT
Using architectural documentation, original floor plans, and historical studies, we developed a digital twin of the Mexuar, meticulously reconstructed in Unreal Engine and optimized for mixed reality experiences.

This environment allows users to virtually explore the palace’s original spaces, with a faithful and rigorous recreation of its architecture and materials.

We’re also currently adapting the environment for virtual production shoots—merging heritage and visual innovation in a single frame.

INNOVATION APPLIED TO CULTURAL HERITAGE
This project is part of our ongoing exploration into how virtual production and 3D technology can serve conservation, education, and artistic creation related to cultural heritage.

We count on the support of Sarape, a company specialized in cultural funding and grants, to help bring these impressive environments to life.
